I have decided
to love unconditionally.
No more keeping score.
I’m ignoring age, color, religion,
personal reciprocity, everything.
I’ve wasted too much time
bookkeeping and evaluating.

My influence is pretty small,
so I won’t make much difference
to the world immediately.
But if everyone decided to just love
and practice no more evil,
we would all love unconditionally,
and there would be no evil.

I don’t want any followers.
But if we could make
an unending chorus line,
I think that would do it.
I’m too old to high kick,
but I would love to link arms.
